The City of Conroe is seeking a detail-oriented Clerk to handle billing and collection of utility bills. The role involves mailing and receiving payments, data entry of bills, and addressing customer questions and complaints with a focus on accurate record-keeping.

This position is responsible for involving billing and collecting a large volume of utility bills. Work involves mailing and receiving payments for water bills, data entry of bills, receiving complaints from customers, and routine inquiry.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Any combination of training and experience which provides knowledge, abilities and skills in modern office clerical procedures required. Previous experience in cashier work and computer data entry required.
Work is repetitive and follows well-defined procedures and the general review of the Utility Billing Supervisor. Attendance is an essential job function.
The work is sedentary and requires the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: feeling, fingering, hearing, lifting, mental acuity, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
