Account Manager - Sports & Entertainment

Who are we looking for?
Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager - Sports & Entertainment to join our Global Sales Organization team. This role focuses on growing small and emerging accounts in the sports and entertainment segments, which are high-growth areas for us. You will build relationships with stakeholders such as sports teams, leagues, event organizers, and entertainment partners, while identifying new business opportunities. You will manage approximately 40 accounts and generate about $5M annually.

Your Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of small and mid-sized sports and entertainment accounts.
  • Understand clients' unique group travel needs, recommend hotels, and increase bookings and loyalty.
  • Prospect and develop new opportunities by engaging with relevant stakeholders.
  • Attend industry events and build a pipeline of aligned accounts.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales and hotel teams to deliver proposals and increase conversions.
  • Track performance using Salesforce and monitor KPIs.
  • Represent Choice Hotels at key events and meetings.
  • Travel up to 50% to meet clients and secure new business.
Your Experience, Skills & Competencies
  • BA/BS degree or 3+ years in hospitality sales, sports group travel, or business development.
  • Knowledge of meetings & events sales and the sports/entertainment landscape.
  • Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of sales pipelines.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and results focus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
Your Work Location

This is a remote position. You will connect virtually with the team via Zoom or Microsoft Teams and may travel periodically to our offices in Rockville, MD, or Scottsdale, AZ, as well as other locations nationwide for events and meetings.

Salary Range

Annual salary from $72,960 to $86,000 plus commission via our Global Sales Incentive Plan. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and location.
