Account Manager - Sports & Entertainment

Who are we looking for?

Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting opportunity as our Account Manager - Sports & Entertainment to join our Global Sales Organization team. At Choice Hotels, groups and meetings are a strategic priority, and the Sports and Entertainment segments offer high-growth opportunities. In this role, you will focus on growing small and emerging accounts within this market, driving group revenue by building relationships with stakeholders in sports, leagues, event organizers, and entertainment partners, while proactively identifying new business opportunities. You will manage approximately 40 accounts with an annual revenue of $5M.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Manage a portfolio of small and mid-sized sports and entertainment accounts.
  2. Understand clients' unique group travel needs, provide strategic hotel recommendations, and work to increase bookings and brand loyalty.
  3. Prospect and cultivate new opportunities by engaging with sports teams, entertainment agencies, and event organizers.
  4. Attend industry events and use market data to build a pipeline aligned with company growth.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams to deliver proposals and increase conversion rates.
  6. Track performance in Salesforce and monitor sales KPIs.
  7. Represent Choice Hotels at key sporting events, trade shows, and client meetings.
  8. Travel up to 50% to engage with clients and secure new business.
Your Experience, Skills & Competencies
  1. BA/BS degree or 3+ years experience in hospitality sales or related fields.
  2. Knowledge of the meetings & events sales process and the sports/entertainment landscape.
  3. Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce is a plus.
  4. Strong understanding of sales pipelines.
  5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Self-starter with a strong work ethic and results-oriented mindset.
  7. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

  9. Ability to travel up to 50%.
Your Work Location

This is a remote role, with virtual connections via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, and periodic in-person travel to offices in Rockville, MD, or Scottsdale, AZ. Nationwide travel up to 50% is expected.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range is $72,960 to $86,000 annually, plus commissions. We offer comprehensive benefits including health coverage, paid time off, retirement plans, employee recognition, and hotel discounts.
