Responsibilities
An Account Manager's key responsibilities include performing marketing and outside sales of a broad range of products and services to dealer accounts through personal customer contact. This involves traveling through the assigned territory, quoting prices, conducting sales presentations, developing sales strategies and product promotions, resolving customer issues, responding to complaints and receivable problems, and providing claims service. Maintain knowledge of competitor products. Manage territory/customers for profitable results. Provide promotional and merchandising support to customers in support of vendors. Develop promotions and administer co-op programs. Provide training to customers, customer associates, and contractors. Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: College degree or equivalent work experience in a related job function. Working conditions for an outside sales position include minimal physical exertion; required to drive a personal car to customer sites, including active construction sites.
Preferred Qualifications: Comprehensive knowledge of building materials and product lines is a plus. Prefer three to five years of experience in a related job function. Candidates must have effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or with teams/groups.
