Job summary

Horizon Air Freight in New York is seeking a Cruise Ops Account Manager based in Inwood to coordinate ocean freight export operations and maintain key client relationships. You will manage bookings, AES, and documentation, while ensuring CRM data accuracy and timely updates to stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in logistics, knowledge of cruise logistics for perishable shipments, and strong communication skills to interact with customers, carriers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years experience in logistics.
• Knowledge of ocean export/import procedures including documentation and regulations.
• Experience with cruise logistics, specifically perishable shipments.
• Strong written and verbal communication across multiple audiences.
• Detail-oriented and proactive in preventing errors and penalties.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate all ocean freight export operational processes including carrier bookings, documentation, AES, and preparation of warehouse picking lists.
• Input accurate data and shipment details into the company's CRM platform.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients for logistics needs and freight movements.
• Address delays, customs holds, documentation errors, and revisions to ETD/ETA schedules promptly.
• Demonstrate ability to make executive operational decisions on a day-to-day basis.
• Communicate with customers, carriers, and truckers about status and delays during and outside office hours.
• Establish and maintain relationships with domestic carriers, vendors, and foreign agents.
• Coordinate movement of freight with internal departments and overseas agents to resolve issues expeditiously.
• Upsell Horizon's product and service offerings when opportunities arise.
• Experience with vendor invoice review, auditing and billing reconciliation.
• Adhere to internal procedures and propose process improvements to existing workflows.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Position description: Cruise Ops Account Manager

Reports to: Managing Director

Location: This role is based in Inwood NY 11096

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and facilitate all ocean freight export operational processes including, but not
  limited to, carrier freight/drayage bookings, documentation, AES, preparation of warehouse
  picking lists and the tracking of global shipments
• Input accurate data and shipment details into the company's CRM platform
• Consults with clients by providing exceptional customer service pertaining to all logistics
  needs and freight movements
• Takes initiative to strategically address/resolve all shipment/carrier delays, customs holds,
  documentation errors, revisions to carrier ETD/ETA schedules and other unexpected issues
  that occur
• Demonstrates the ability make executive operational decisions timely on a day-to-day basis
• Communicates with customers, carriers and truckers on shipment status and/or delays both
  verbally and via email when needed during in and non-office hours
• Establishes and maintains relationships with all domestic carriers/vendors/foreign agents
• Coordinates movement of freight for clients with internal departments & overseas agents
  when necessary to resolve issues expeditiously
• Works to upsell current clients on additional value of Horizon's product and service offerings
  when the opportunity arises
• Experience with vendor invoice review, auditing and billing reconciliation
• Diligently adheres to all internal operational procedures & policies, while taking initiative to
  present process improvement initiatives to existing workflows

The Ideal Candidate

• Minimum of 5+ years experience in logistics
• Must have knowledge of ocean export/import procedures including documentation and
  regulations
• Experience with cruise logistics, specifically perishable shipments
• Demonstrates the ability to clearly articulate via both email and phone to multiple audiences
• Pays attention to detail, is proactive in preventing errors and avoiding penalties
• Possesses time management skills to work under pressure with tight deadlines; able to pivot
  when circumstances change, recover from setbacks and rise to new challenges.
• Has good interpersonal skills and has a team mindset
• Computer literate with experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Education

• High School Graduate, college degree a plus
• Industry certifications a plus (Hazmat certified)
