Job Description

Danfoss Industrial Division is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and self-driven Account Manager to increase wallet share at existing accounts. This role will identify new opportunities and drive specifications for pull-through sales and own the sales growth and relationship of assigned accounts. The Account Manager will maintain strong professional relationships with key decision makers.

The Account Manager will report directly to the Director, Industry Sales for Industrial Americas. This role is remote, based in any of the following US cities: Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Cincinnati, OH; Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Indianapolis, IN; Little Rock, AR; Louisville, KY; Nashville, TN; New Orleans, LA; Oklahoma City, OK; St. Louis, MO. Support for work authorization cannot be provided for this role.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute strategies and focused plans to achieve sales, price, and margin targets, focusing on new wins, opportunity management, and maintaining strong business relationships.
  2. Identify customer applications, products, and programs that present sales opportunities across Danfoss Business Units, developing tailored proposals to meet customer needs.
  3. Lead initiatives within the Industrial Business Unit at assigned accounts and collaborate with Distribution, OEM, and Virtual sales teams.
  4. Ensure operational alignment with customers through regular business reviews, internal communication of forecasts, and performance management.
  5. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure high support levels and communication to customers.
  6. Represent Voice of Customer topics, including price proposals/changes, product updates, and performance metrics, to ensure customer expectations are understood.
  7. Develop relationships with key decision makers and departments within customers to support product specification and purchase.
  8. Plan and conduct presentations on Danfoss products and programs for customers.
  9. Prepare and submit reports and documentation related to sales activities promptly.
  10. Maintain organized records for performance analysis and follow-up.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • At least 3 years of customer-facing account management and sales experience with industrial or mechanical products
  • At least 3 years of hydraulics customer and market experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and productivity skills
  • Ability to travel up to 75%, mainly within US and Canada
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without support
