Position Purpose: The Account Manager I services, renews, and increases group membership at a profitable margin; performs related work as required or assigned.

  • Functions as a health care consultant to employer groups, brokers, and consultants.
  • Facilitates the renewal and underwriting/rating process, identifying underwriting risks.
  • Assists in the preparation of responses to requests for proposals submitted by employer groups and/or consultants/brokers. Negotiates contractual and administrative requirements with clients.
  • Communicates legislation and/or industry trends to employer groups.
  • Sells alternative, ancillary, and replacement products to renewing groups.
  • Follows established service protocol including recording or logging calls and visits made to and with groups, members, and brokers/consultants.
  • Tracks, records, and responds to employer group, member, and provider inquiries and complaints.
  • Serves as liaison between assigned groups and Health Net operational staff.
  • Participates in meetings, seminars, training, and community or public relations functions.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred. Two years public contact experience in a professional environment.

License/Certification: Current state insurance licensure or ability to obtain within three months of employment; must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.

While this position will primarily be remote, some travel is required. An ideal candidate will be based within a commutable distance to Portland, OR.

Pay Range: $55,100.00 - $99,000.00 per year.

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and flexible work schedules (remote, hybrid, field, or office). Actual pay will be adjusted based on skills, experience, education, and other factors. Total compensation may include additional incentives.
