Job summary

ZimZee Recruiting is looking for an Account Manager for our aviation client in Wichita, KS. The AM will drive business development and supporting continued growth across aviation OEM, commercial, and defense markets in Wichita, KS.

You will develop customer relationships, identify new product and market opportunities, lead proposals and contract negotiations, and serve as a key point of contact for customers and program partners.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct aviation sales experience.
  • Ability to develop customer relationships and deliver a high level of service.
  • Experience supporting complex opportunities and negotiations.
  • Proficient in CRM and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Generate leads and advance opportunities through the sales process.
  • Identify market needs, trends and competitive positioning, and relay feedback.
  • Create and deliver sales presentations and develop proposals and RFP responses.
  • Lead negotiations and administration of long-term contracts and agreements.
  • Serve as primary contact for program partners and coordinate customer needs.
  • Develop technical knowledge of lithium-ion battery tech, power conversion and avionics to address power requirements.

Job description

ZimZee Recruiting is looking for an Account Manager for our aviation client in Wichita, KS. The AM will drive business development and supporting continued growth across aviation OEM, commercial, and defense markets in Wichita, KS. You will develop customer relationships, identify new product and market opportunities, lead proposals and contract negotiations, and serve as a key point of contact for customers and program partners. The ideal candidate brings direct aviation sales experience, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to understand and communicate technical solutions related to aircraft electrical power and avionics systems.

Skills and Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct aviation sales experience; exposure to aviation electrical and avionics systems is preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop customer relationships and deliver a high level of customer service.
  • Strong negotiation and project/program management skills, including experience supporting complex customer opportunities and agreements.
  • Excellent presentation, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, prioritization, and organizational skills with close attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to support customer needs and industry events.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred; a Private Pilot License, Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, or similar aviation certification is also a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate leads, develop relationships with prospective and existing customers, and advance opportunities through the sales process.
  • Identify and research market opportunities, industry trends, competitive positioning, and customer needs while providing feedback that can inform current and future product opportunities.
  • Create and deliver sales presentations and lead the development of product proposals, RFP responses, and compliance matrices.
  • Lead the negotiation, administration, and execution of long-term contracts and agreements designed to establish productive, lasting customer partnerships and programs.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for program partners, coordinating customer needs and supporting training and deployment initiatives.
  • Develop strong technical knowledge of lithium-ion battery technology, power conversion solutions, and avionics systems to effectively communicate solutions that address customer power requirements.
  • Represent the organization at industry trade shows and customer meetings as required.
