Job description

The Account Manager is responsible for managing assigned customer accounts within the automotive, industrial, or heavy truck markets. This role focuses on maintaining strong customer relationships, supporting program execution, and identifying incremental growth opportunities. The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for day‑to‑day commercial activity and works cross‑functionally to ensure customer requirements are met from quotation through production.

Essential Job Functions
  • Serves as the voice of the customer by communicating customer needs, priorities, and concerns internally and escalating issues to the appropriate cross‑functional teams for timely resolution.
  • Manages assigned customer accounts and supports ongoing commercial activities.
  • Serves as the primary customer contact for CSP on assigned customer accounts.
  • Identifies opportunities for incremental growth within assigned accounts.
  • Prepares and supports customer quotations; coordinates internally to obtain pricing, tooling, and cost inputs in customer and company systems.
  • Lead the management and reporting of customer scorecards.
  • Develops customer presentations for new or existing product applications.
  • Coordinates internal resources to support customer needs including but not limited to engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.
  • Lead the contract negotiation with assigned customers.
  • Ensures orders, quotes, and customer requirements are accurately processed.
  • Manages day‑to‑day customer issues, supports timely resolution and escalates when needed.
  • Supports program launches, engineering changes, and lifecycle management activities.
  • Documents opportunities in the CSP account planning tool and regularly tracks and reports progress, activity, and outcomes.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales or account management experience in automotive, industrial, heavy truck, or manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of OEM and Tier 1 customer requirements and processes.
  • Experience with plastics, composites, or engineered materials preferred.
  • Proficiency with customer portals (e.g., GM Supplier Power or equivalent).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to travel to customer and company locations approximately 25%.
Senior Account Manager
Position Summary

The Senior Account Manager is responsible for the strategic management and growth of key customer accounts within the automotive, industrial, or heavy truck markets. This role leads complex, high‑value customer relationships, drives new business acquisition, and provides leadership across cross‑functional teams. The Senior Account Manager owns long‑term account strategies and may mentor Account Managers or Inside Sales personnel.

Essential Job Functions
  • Serves as the voice of the customer by communicating customer needs, priorities, and concerns internally and escalating issues to the appropriate cross‑functional teams for timely resolution.
  • Owns and manages strategic customer accounts.
  • Develops and executes account strategies to grow revenue and profitability.
  • Leads quotation strategy and commercial negotiations.
  • Presents complex commercial and technical proposals to customer leadership.
  • Leads cross‑functional teams supporting customer programs and launches.
  • Oversees program lifecycle management and escalation resolution.
  • Supports forecasting, budgeting, and long‑range planning.
  • Mentors Account Managers and Inside Sales Specialists.
  • Documents opportunities in the CSP account planning tool and regularly tracks and reports progress, activity, and outcomes.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive account management or sales experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex or strategic customer accounts.
  • Strong understanding of OEM and Tier 1 sourcing and product development cycles.
  • Advanced negotiation and commercial strategy experience.
  • Executive‑level communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel to customer and company locations up to 25%.
