Owosso, MI (ASP) - Ammonia production & filling

Do you excel at building lasting relationships? Do you understand that sales is more about showing your customer the value proposition than the price? Do you have experience selling industrial products? If you answered yes to these questions, we may have the role for you!

Airgas is seeking an Account Manager supporting our Specialty Products business. You will own your territory, acting as an entrepreneur to grow the business by enhancing partnerships, building rapport with existing and prospective customers, and maintaining gross margins. The ability to convert prospects into long-term customers is essential.

This is a remote position; candidates should reside in or near Delphos, OH, Indianapolis, IN, or Detroit, MI, to facilitate travel for customer meetings.

Responsibilities

  1. Maintain and strengthen relationships with current customers.
  2. Develop and build relationships with prospects to keep the sales funnel active.
  3. Prepare complex bids showcasing our value proposition.
  4. Prepare quotes, supply agreements, and internal documentation for orders.
  5. Generate reports on business transactions and expenses.
  6. Develop strong internal relationships with operations.
  7. Create and update a territory business plan regularly.
  8. Maintain sales activity reports using Excel and our internal CRM system.
  9. Travel overnight as needed to manage the sales territory.
  10. Flexibility to take on additional key assignments as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience selling industrial, food, or chemicals to businesses.
Related technical knowledge or aptitude is a plus.
