The Account Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities in the commercial and industrial sectors for solid waste and recycling services. This role involves prospecting, generating proposals, conducting site visits, and building long-term customer relationships to drive revenue growth within a defined territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, and local market knowledge.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients using CRM software.
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Conduct on-site evaluations to understand client needs and waste stream challenges.
  • Develop customized service proposals, negotiate terms, and close contracts.
  • Serve as the point of contact during onboarding and initial service setup.

Territory Management:

  • Manage a defined geographic sales territory, including industrial parks, retail centers, healthcare facilities, and multi-tenant properties.
  • Track market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies.
  • Partner with operations teams to ensure service delivery aligns with customer expectations.
  • Report weekly on sales activity, pipeline updates, and forecasts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business, marketing, or environmental services.
  • 2+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in waste, environmental services, logistics, or route-based industries.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience selling in the waste management, recycling, or facilities services industry.
  • Knowledge of waste regulations, sustainability practices, or LEED programs.
