Software Placement Group, SPG is seeking an Account Manager in a Detroit-area on-site role to lead key customer relationships within a manufacturing environment. You will coordinate RFQs and pricing, drive cross-functional collaboration, and support strategic planning for customer programs.

The role emphasizes voice-of-the-customer alignment, proactive issue resolution, and ongoing account development across engineering, quality, and supply chain teams.

Qualifications

  • Account management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Automotive OEM, Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier experience.
  • RFQ ownership, quotation preparation, and proposal management.
  • Commercial experience including pricing, contract discussions, profitability reviews, and customer negotiations.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Experience managing customer issues, quality concerns, engineering changes, and ongoing account support.
  • Strong customer relationship management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and business reporting tools.
  • Experience conducting business reviews, forecasting, and account planning.
  • Some travel required.

Location: Detroit, MI | Schedule: Full-time, on-site

Overview

An established manufacturing company is seeking an Account Manager to serve as the primary point of contact for key customer accounts. This role is central to building long‑term customer relationships, supporting commercial activities, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure successful execution of customer programs.
