Job description

SPANX isn’t your average company. We revolutionized an industry by challenging the status quo and putting the customer first. You might know the story: our founder, Sara Blakely, needed a base layer for her white pants, so she cut the legs off a pair of tights and SPANX was born. The spark of that origin is the fuel for our future. We grew up in shapewear. But we’ve graduated. For over 25 years, we've been experimenting, innovating, and giving women what they want and what they deserve. Because we are those women. And we’re honored to create on behalf of us all.

We make elevated essentials with confidence built in, because what you put on can change how you show up. Creating items that’ll make you feel great is a matter of the heart—and the lab. In every SPANX product is technology we design and build to highlight, complement, and form your look, just the way you like it. We are a high-growth, innovative and ambitious company and we are embarking on an exciting trajectory of both digital and international expansion.

Job Description

About the role

The Account Manager at SPANX will be responsible for managing and growing key domestic wholesale accounts, with a focus on the department store channel. This role will own day-to-day account management, sales performance, forecasting, and strategic planning while building strong relationships with retail partners and cross-functional teams.

The Account Manager will leverage strong business acumen, analytical capabilities, and an understanding of the end-to-end wholesale business to identify opportunities, drive revenue growth, and achieve account and company sales objectives. As a member of the Sales team, you will play an integral role in developing and executing account strategies that support the continued growth of SPANX.

This is a hybrid position with in-office work based at our Atlanta headquarters and reports to the Director Department Stores Sales.

You’ll love it because you will...

Serve as the primary point of contact and business owner for assigned domestic wholesale accounts, with a focus on the department store channel.

Own account sales performance and develop strategies to achieve and exceed revenue, margin, and inventory productivity goals.

Develop and manage monthly shipping and receipt forecasts for key accounts, identifying risks and opportunities and partnering with customers and internal teams to drive results.

Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships, serving as the day-to-day face of the SPANX brand and a strategic partner to buyers and management teams.

Use strong business acumen, analytical capabilities, and dynamic presentation skills to influence account strategies and drive incremental sales opportunities.

Partner proactively with customers to identify opportunities and solve challenges across product, inventory, timing, financials, marketing, in-store presentation, and sales, with the goal of strengthening relationships and growing the business.

Lead seasonal sell-in meetings and business reviews during New York Market Weeks, approximately four times per year. Develop and present compelling materials including sales analyses, business recaps, seasonal strategies, recommended product assortments, product and marketing trends, and white-space opportunities.

Identify opportunities for growth across existing and prospective customers, categories, doors, and channels, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and execute strategies that drive incremental revenue.

Develop seasonal marketing plans with retail partners and collaborate cross-functionally to execute programs within established budgets.

Analyze weekly retail sales, inventory, sell-through, margin, and order performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Develop and execute action plans to maximize sales and inventory productivity.

Lead regular business reviews with key customers, including monthly face-to-face meetings, to evaluate retail performance, identify future opportunities, address open business issues, review performance against plans, and assess orders and receipts against forecasts.

Monitor weekly orders and shipments against monthly forecasts, identify gaps to plan, and proactively partner with customers and internal teams to resolve risks and capture upside opportunities.

Develop a deep understanding of each account’s in-store presentation, traffic patterns, promotional cadence, associate engagement, and consumer behavior to inform strategies that maximize business performance.

Partner cross-functionally with Planning, Operations, Marketing, Merchandising, Finance, and other internal teams to ensure successful execution of account strategies and customer initiatives.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in wholesale account management, sales, or a related role within apparel, fashion, or consumer products, preferably working with national or department store retailers.

Demonstrated experience managing and growing wholesale accounts and building strong relationships with retail Buyers and Management teams.

Strong financial and analytical acumen, with experience analyzing retail sales, margin performance, inventory, assortment productivity, forecasting, and open-to-buy.

Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated ability to translate complex retail data into clear insights and actionable business strategies.

Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to confidently lead customer meetings and influence internal and external stakeholders.

Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and competing priorities.

Ability to operate independently, take ownership, make informed decisions, and proactively identify solutions and opportunities.

Ability to build trust and leverage relationships across the organization to drive alignment and deliver results.

A collaborative, forward-thinking mindset with a willingness to challenge existing approaches, champion new ideas, and continuously improve.
