The Mississippi Mud Monsters, based at Trustmark Park in Pearl, MS, are seeking an Account Executive to drive Group & Ticket Sales across Central Mississippi. You will identify opportunities, cultivate relationships with businesses, schools and community groups, and close group sales to create memorable ballpark experiences.
This sales role requires daily prospecting, in-person meetings, and managing a strong pipeline.

The Mississippi Mud Monsters are a professional baseball team in the Frontier League, playing at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi.
Our business goes well beyond baseball.
Trustmark Park is a year-round sports and entertainment venue, anchored by Mud Monsters baseball and The Southern Lights holiday festival, along with group outings, hospitality experiences, special events and community programming throughout the year.
We are looking for someone who wants to help fill it.
The Account Executive, Group & Ticket Sales will be responsible for generating new ticket revenue and building relationships throughout Central Mississippi.
This is a sales position.
You will prospect. You will make calls. You will send emails. You will take meetings. You will visit businesses, schools, churches, youth sports organizations and community groups. You will ask questions, learn what people are looking for and help turn those conversations into experiences at Trustmark Park.
And, yes, you will ask for the sale.
The best person for this job will not see a list of phone numbers. They will see potential relationships.
A youth baseball organization could become a 300-person group night.
A company looking for something different to do with its employees could become a suite customer.
A teacher planning an end-of-year experience could bring an entire grade to the ballpark.
A family that comes to one game could become season ticket holders.
Your job is to find those opportunities, build the relationship and close the business.
This position reports to the Vice President, Sales & Partnerships and will work closely with Ticket Operations, Marketing and other members of the Mud Monsters staff.
Group sales will be a major focus of this position.
Help customers find the right experience for their group, whether that's reserved seating, hospitality areas, premium experiences, fundraising opportunities or something we have not created yet.
Maintain an individual revenue goal and actively sell products including:
We don't expect you to wait for someone to call us.
A major part of this job is finding new customers.
Consistently follow up with prospects and move opportunities through the sales process.
Keep accurate notes, activity and pipeline information in the organization's CRM and ticketing systems.
We want customers who come back.
Get to know the people and organizations you work with. Understand why they are coming, what matters to them and what would make their experience better.
Look for opportunities to turn first-time buyers into repeat customers and small relationships into larger ones.
Ask for referrals.
Stay in touch.
Be the person your customers think of when they want to bring people together.
Selling the ticket is not the end of the job.
Work with Ticket Operations and other departments to make sure your customers have a great experience from the first conversation through event day.
Welcome groups.
Check on hospitality areas.
Solve problems.
Celebrate birthdays.
Say hello to the company that brought 100 employees.
Notice when the kid from the youth team you sold is having the greatest night of his summer.
We sell experiences. You should care what happens after someone says yes.
Game days are a major part of working in professional baseball, and this position will be involved in making them successful.
On Game Days, Your Primary Responsibility Will Be Taking Care Of Your Customers And Helping Create Opportunities For Future Business. That May Include
Some nights you may spend most of your time with customers. Other nights the team may simply need another set of hands.
That is part of working in minor league baseball.
Everyone on our staff helps make the building work.
Baseball season ending does not mean the selling stops.
The Southern Lights is a major part of our year-round business, and this position will actively sell group outings, premium experiences, hospitality and other opportunities associated with the event.
This position will also work Southern Lights event dates and other major Trustmark Park events as needed, helping with customer service, group execution and event operations.
You should be comfortable selling different products to different audiences throughout the year.
Pay attention to what customers are asking for.
If you repeatedly hear that groups want something we do not currently offer, tell us.
If you see an unsold section and have an idea for who should be sitting there, chase it.
If there is an organization we should have a relationship with, introduce us.
We want sellers who think about the business, not just the next name on a call sheet.
We are a growing organization, which means job descriptions cannot predict every situation that will come up.
There will be times when this position helps with special events, community appearances, promotions, ballpark projects, customer service, setup, teardown or something entirely unexpected.
We do not expect this person to own every one of those areas.
We do expect every member of our staff to be willing to help when the organization needs it.
We care more about whether you can connect with people, learn, work and sell than whether you've already spent five years working in professional sports.
You hit your sales goal.
Your pipeline is active.
You are consistently creating new conversations instead of waiting for leads to appear.
Groups come to Trustmark Park because you introduced them to us.
Customers renew and grow because they enjoyed working with you.
People refer their friends, coworkers and organizations to you.
Your customers know they will see you when they get to the ballpark.
You know which prospects need a call today and which relationships could become something bigger six months from now.
And over time, you build a book of business that belongs not because somebody handed it to you, but because you created it.
There are a lot of people in Mississippi who have never been to a Mud Monsters game.
There are companies that have never brought their employees here.
Schools that have never filled a section.
Youth teams that have never run onto our field.
Families who haven't discovered us yet.
That's the opportunity.
We can build great experiences, but somebody has to invite people into them.
We're looking for the person who wants to do that.
