We are seeking a driven Account Executive to develop and manage customer relationships within the heavy equipment and construction industries. This individual will be responsible for growing an assigned territory, identifying new business opportunities, and serving as a trusted resource to customers with equipment needs.
The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, comfortable working in the field, and understands the sales process within construction, heavy equipment, equipment rental, or a related industrial market. We are open to both established sales professionals and motivated candidates with strong industry knowledge who are ready to grow into an outside sales role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships with contractors, construction companies, municipalities, industrial customers, and other equipment users.
- Prospect and develop new accounts while expanding business within existing customers.
- Sell and/or rent heavy equipment based on customer project and operational needs.
- Conduct regular customer visits, jobsite visits, and territory development activities.
- Identify upcoming projects and equipment requirements to build a strong sales pipeline.
- Prepare quotes, proposals, pricing, and equipment recommendations.
- Negotiate sales and rental agreements while maintaining profitable margins.
- Maintain consistent follow-up throughout the sales process and after equipment delivery.
- Track opportunities, customer activity, and pipeline development through CRM.
- Partner with operations, service, parts, and equipment teams to ensure a strong customer experience.
- Stay informed on competitive equipment, pricing, market activity, and customer needs.
- Meet or exceed established revenue, margin, and territory growth goals.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of outside sales, account management, business development, or heavy equipment industry experience preferred.
- Experience within heavy equipment, equipment rental, construction equipment, material handling, agriculture equipment, or industrial sales strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of equipment such as excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, skid steers, backhoes, articulated trucks, or similar machinery is a plus.
- Strong prospecting and relationship-building abilities.
- Comfortable developing a territory and generating new business.
- Ability to understand customer applications and recommend appropriate equipment solutions.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and follow-through skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage a territory independently.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
