In this crucial role, you will own selling Tecan Genomics products in the Northeast. This role reports to the President of Tecan, US. You will travel at least 50% of the time and regularly overnight. This is a remote position with a preferred home base in Boston, MA.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Achieve sales target and develop the business within the assigned territory
  • Prospect, develop, and close sales in the assigned territory
  • Participate in lead generation for sales through routine account penetration
  • Contact prospective customers to determine product needs and perform sales presentations to match those identified needs
  • Develop and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and retention through one-on-one contact with current and potential customers
  • Develop and implement plans to achieve assigned sales growth and product mix.
  • Actively participate in sales and company meetings, providing quality input and follow-up actions
  • Work closely with commercial colleagues, technical support, and global marketing teams to develop and implement sales tactics and activities
  • Maintain Customer Relationship Manager system (CRM) by adding new contacts and opportunities, generating quotes, and keeping all customer information current
  • Provide accurate forecast information on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Travel regularly. Anticipated travel time is 50%, including overnights
  • Act and communicate according to the company's core values

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A B.S. degree in Life Sciences is required. Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of two years of technical sales experience
  • Demonstrated track record of selling complex, technical life science products or solutions
  • Familiarity with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies and knowledge of NGS platforms, applications, and tools providers
  • Must be self-motivated and enthusiastic, have excellent interpersonal skills, and work well independently as well as part of a team
  • Must be able to communicate to gain commitment
  • Must be a strong negotiator
  • Is personally accountable and takes ownership
  • Assesses new situations quickly, prioritizes the critical few tasks, takes action quickly and effectively, and completes tasks on time with high-quality
  • Utilizes time and resources effectively and efficiently
  • Is comfortable with complexity and ambiguity and innovative in finding solutions
  • Is resilient and coachable and learns continuously from experience
  • Understands and is effective in working within different and complex organizational structures

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Annual Compensation Package up to: $180,000 DOE

(Base Salary + Target Commission, with No Cap)
