Job summary

GLP Attorneys, a leading personal injury firm in Washington, seeks an Account Coordinator for the Bellingham office. You will manage account balances, prepare settlement accountings, and process release and trust packets in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, comfortable with numbers, and provide excellent client service while coordinating with attorneys, paralegals, medical providers, and insurers.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in an administrative or accounting support role (legal or personal injury experience a plus).
  • Strong math, proofreading, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; familiarity with legal software preferred.
  • Type at least 50 wpm and manage multiple priorities with accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and HITECH standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to work independently.
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree or paralegal certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and cross-reference medical bills, payment ledgers, and records with precision.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all records and comply with HIPAA standards.
  • Prepare and process settlement and forensic accountings accurately and on deadline.
  • Communicate regularly with healthcare providers, insurers, and state agencies (HCA).
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in billing or insurance records.
  • Track and follow up on outstanding requests to ensure timely responses.
  • Provide consistent and professional communication with both internal teams and external contacts.

About the Role

We are seeking an Account Coordinator to join our Bellingham office. This role supports the region’s legal teams by managing account balances, preparing settlement accountings, and processing release and trust packets. It is a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable with numbers, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and client service comes first. You will communicate frequently with attorneys, paralegals, medical providers, and insurance representatives, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. The position requires strong organizational skills, excellent follow-through, and a customer-service mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly base pay range for this position is $24.00 to $26.00 per hour, plus bonuses awarded based on production, which may vary by legal team. Compensation is determined using local, national, and industry-specific data and is based on location. Compensation is adjusted based on the selected candidate’s years of experience, education, and skills.
