The University of South Dakota is seeking an Accommodations Coordinator to join the Office of Accessibility. This role supports students registered with the university by coordinating reasonable and appropriate accommodations that allow full access to academic programs and services.

Under the direction of the Director of Accessibility/504 Compliance, the successful candidate will be energetic, able to work with a team, and committed to helping students strengthen their self‑advocacy and self‑reliance as they work toward their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for students requesting accommodations.
  • Review medical and psychological documentation to determine eligibility.
  • Approve, coordinate, and monitor accommodation plans.
  • Provide exam accommodations, including proctoring, scribing, or reading.
  • Assist with accessible technology and accessible media needs.
  • Maintain accurate case files and documentation.
  • Work with faculty and staff to address accommodation needs and support classroom implementation.
  • Provide case management and collaborate on process improvements.
  • Supervise student workers who assist with accommodation delivery.
  • Serve as a Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related or transferable discipline.
  • 1–3 years of related experience.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals.
  • Ability to interpret documentation, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy.
