Job description

“Do you want to make a difference to people’s lives and want to work for an organisation that will invest in your personal development?”

You’ve come to the right place! Join our growing team of Accommodation Advisors. Working from HMP Ranby and Mansfield Probation, in partnership with the Prison and Probation Service, you’ll work with a caseload of clients in the community and provide advice and support relevant to their housing needs.

You’ll carry out initial assessments to understand each person’s specific needs to agree a tailored action plan. This may include the provision of support to end or sustain a tenancy, find accommodation or basic budgeting advice and liaison with other agencies. You’ll provide support face to face with individuals and groups.

This role offers a starting salary within Nacro’s pay structure of £28,851, per annum with expected progression to £29,572, per annum within the first year, subject to meeting clear criteria and performance standards, with further pay progression available in the future. Nacro’s pay framework provides transparent progression points and supports ongoing professional development and career growth.

This role requires an enhanced DBS check against the adult workforce and prison clearance. This role also requires regular travel across an allocated area and therefore, a full valid UK driver’s license and access to your own vehicle with business insurance are essential.

About You

You will need to be a great communicator, enjoy working in a busy people-focused role, organised and solution-focused. The right candidate can engage others and is non-judgmental. You will bring with you, integrity, a proactive attitude and good ICT skills (Microsoft Office & Excel and custom databases).

Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in the criminal justice sector and some knowledge of homelessness legislation; however, we will welcome transferable skills and provide you with the relevant training and support required for the job.

This role does not offer eligibility for visa sponsorship.

At Nacro, we believe that everyone deserves a good education, a safe and secure place to live, the right to be heard, and the chance to start again, with support from someone on their side.

That’s why our housing, education, justice, and health and wellbeing services work alongside people to give them the support and skills they need to succeed. And it’s why we fight for their voices to be heard and campaign together to create lasting change.

We see your future, whatever the past.
