Job summary

Free People is seeking a Buyer for accessories to create a timely, trend-forward assortment across retail, direct and wholesale channels. You will lead a team, drive sales, and manage OTB, IMU, and inventory while partnering with design and planning to maximize in-stock and brand quality.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent negotiation skills to deliver elevated product experiences and profitable growth for the accessories division.

Responsibilities

• Lead a buying team to beat sales and profit targets across channels.
• Build collaboration between design, production, merchandising, planning and sales.
• Partner with planning to adjust buys and maintain in-stock positioning.
• Translate topline insights into actionable plans for the team.
• Understand retail/wholesale calendars and optimize timing and efficiency.
• Coach, develop and motivate the buying team.
• Drive customer insight, competitive awareness, and opportunity.
• Manage OTB, IMU, MD, closeouts, inventory and receipts.
• Collaborate with design/production to exceed brand quality expectations.
• Work with allocation/planning and sales to fit store and wholesale needs.
• Review assortment mix across private label, wholesale and market.
