Job summary

EBSCO Information Services is seeking a Digital Accessibility Specialist to partner with engineering, design, and product teams to build accessibility into EBSCOhost and related platforms from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone early in their accessibility career who wants to grow technical skills while making a meaningful impact.

You will perform manual and automated testing, document issues, support audits, and help maintain accessibility documentation while staying current on

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of accessibility experience (internships, coursework, certifications, or hands-on projects welcome).
• Familiarity with WCAG guidelines and assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers like JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver).
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript as they relate to accessible web development.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and collaborate with customers.
• Conduct manual and automated accessibility testing (screen readers, keyboard navigation, color contrast, etc.) against WCAG 2.2AA, EN 301 549 and Section 508 standards.
• Document accessibility defects clearly and collaborate with cross functional teams to identify remediation approaches.
• Support accessibility audits of new and existing features throughout the development lifecycle.
• Help maintain and update accessibility documentation, including ACRs (VPATs), Roadmaps, Statements, etc.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to advocate for accessible design and development practices.
• Stay current on evolving accessibility standards, assistive technologies, and industry best practices.
