Job summary

EBSCO Information Services is seeking a Digital Accessibility Specialist to partner with product, design, and engineering teams to build accessibility into EBSCOhost and related web platforms. The role focuses on testing, identifying, and remediating accessibility issues to ensure WCAG, Section 508, and EN 301 549 compliance across our products.

Ideal candidates have 0-2 years in accessibility, familiarity with screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver), and basic HTML/CSS/JS.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with WCAG guidelines and assistive technologies.
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for accessible web development.
• Ability to work across teams and explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
• 0-2 years of accessibility experience (internships, coursework, or projects).

Responsibilities

• Communicate and collaborate with customers.
• Conduct manual and automated accessibility testing against WCAG 2.2 AA, EN 301 549 and Section 508.
• Document accessibility defects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to remediate.
• Support accessibility audits of new and existing features throughout the lifecycle.
• Help maintain accessibility documentation including ACRs, roadmaps, and statements.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to advocate for accessible design.
• Stay current on evolving accessibility standards and assistive technologies.
