Job summary
EBSCO Information Services is seeking a Digital Accessibility Specialist to ensure our EBSCOhost products meet WCAG, EN 301 549, and Section 508 standards. You will identify, test, and remediate accessibility issues with engineering and design teams to bake accessibility into products from the ground up.
Ideal candidates have up to 2 years of accessibility exposure, familiarity with assistive tech, and basic web development knowledge.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of accessibility experience (internships, coursework, certifications, or hands-on projects welcome).
- Familiarity with WCAG guidelines and assistive technologies (screen readers).
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript as they relate to accessible web development.
- Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Communicate and collaborate with customers.
- Conduct manual and automated accessibility testing against WCAG 2.2 AA, EN 301 549 and Section 508.
- Document accessibility defects and coordinate remediation with crossfunctional teams.
- Support accessibility audits of new and existing features throughout the development lifecycle.
- Maintain accessibility documentation (ACRs, VPATs, Roadmaps, Statements).
- Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to advocate accessible design and development.
