Job description

We are staffing this role for a contingent project and identifying qualified candidates now. The position does not exist until the project is awarded. Candidates selected will be asked to confirm availability and sign a contingent commitment letter. No work or compensation begins before award.

Accessibility Project Support Specialist, Level II (Program Compliance Support) ~1,880 hours/year, about 36 hours per week

The work. The program compliance and reporting seat. The testers produce findings; you turn them into the reporting the organization owes its oversight bodies and its own leadership, and you carry the accessibility reviews that run through IT governance and acquisition processes.

The reporting is not clerical. Program health assessments identify how each component program follows policy, recommend improvements, and report performance metrics at the executive level. Written well, they change what a component does next. Written poorly, they are filed.

  • Identify information resources, gather data, analyze, validate, and produce reports for internal and external requirements, including annual governmentwide accessibility assessments, quarterly component-level program health assessments, and the annual headquarters program health assessment.
  • Review and interpret automated scan results, compare automated rule sets and remediation guidance against manual conformance testing methodology, conduct trend analysis, and produce findings tailored to distinct audiences: executives, program managers, and web teams.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual activity and compliance reporting in an enterprise ticketing system built on ServiceNow.
  • Complete accessibility reviews of ICT requests moving through governance: acquisition reviews, infrastructure change control, review and approval committees, network service change, technical reference model review.
  • Prepare topic-specific reporting for senior leadership, often on short notice and expected to be of professional quality with solid background and conclusions.
  • Provide back-up document remediation and training support, including instructor-led electronic documents training on Microsoft Office and Adobe, delivered one-on-one, classroom, on-site, and remotely.

Required. Current IAAP CPACC certification — hard requirement; cannot be obtained after selection. Broad knowledge of the Revised Section 508 Standards. Two years supporting ICT project and acquisition efforts addressing Section 508 requirements across the lifecycle for complex IT projects. Two years evaluating and remediating electronic documents and forms for Section 508, including Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF. Ability to provide verbal and written instruction on document evaluation and remediation.

Also needed. Strong analytical and reporting skills, and comfort moving between raw scan data and a one-page executive summary in the same afternoon. The ability to explain the gap between what a scanner reports and what a manual conformance test finds, to an audience that would prefer the scanner's number. ServiceNow or comparable platform, preferred. Federal accessibility reporting cycles, preferred. Tolerance for short-notice work — leadership reporting requested Thursday for Monday is routine here, not an exception.
