Job summary

San Diego State University seeks an Accessible Learning Assistant Coordinator to ensure timely and equitable access to instructional materials and technology-based accommodations for students with disabilities. The role collaborates with SDS staff, faculty, students, and vendors to coordinate service delivery, prepare accessible materials, and provide technology support.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Office and Google Workspace; familiarity with accessible technology.
• Knowledge of alternative media production, electronic text conversion, captioning, and DHH accommodation processes.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities and applying accessibility principles.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous documentation practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with students, faculty, and staff.
• Professional certification in accessibility or assistive technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate accessible media and captioning requests with students, faculty, and vendors; track service delivery.
• Support alternative media and accessible technology accommodations, including electronic text and accessible learning materials.
• Advise students and faculty on accessible learning services and resources.
• Maintain service records, inventories, and reports; assist with QA and tracking.
• Support Deaf and Hard of Hearing scheduling, outreach, workshops, and continuity of services.
