Job summary

The University of Rhode Island seeks a Coordinator, Disability, Access, and Inclusion to lead and coordinate accessibility services for students with disabilities across campus. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, counseling/social work, college student personnel, communicative disorders, or related field.
• At least three years of experience with students with disabilities.
• At least two years of administrative or instructional experience in higher education.
• Commitment to student success and self-advocacy.
• Knowledge of Federal Regulations 504, 508, ADA Amendments Act and reasonable accommodations.
• Knowledge of FERPA.
• Experience with adults with mental health, social, and emotional needs.
• Ability to advise on learning accessibility options.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication.
• Strong written communication.
• Ability to contribute to team cohesiveness.
• Experience integrating inclusion, equity, and social justice in your work.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver accessibility services for students with disabilities.
• Assess student requests for services via remote and in-person meetings.
• Conduct learning support services for various disabilities.
• Hire, train, and supervise student employees.
• Advise students and student groups on disability, diversity, civil rights, services, and self-advocacy.
• Guide university departments on accessibility options in courses, programs and services.
• Refer faculty and staff regarding disability-related options.
• Provide information on postsecondary transition and family guidance.
• Participate in Disability, Access, and Inclusion initiatives.
