Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field or equivalent leadership experience.
  • Five years of healthcare operations and patient access leadership.
  • Three years of direct frontline supervisory experience.
  • Two years of experience with operational metrics and data-driven improvement.
  • Two years of Lean, Six Sigma, or formal process-improvement experience.
  • Two years leading in a large academic medical center or health system.
  • Two years supervising represented employees.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee centralized scheduling and call center operations.
  • Manage new patient referral intake and navigation.
  • Lead capacity management and workflow optimization.
  • Develop teams through coaching and professional development.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

UCLA Health runs and operates over 300 outpatient clinics located in Southern California with over 3,000,000 outpatient encounters annually. The Patient Access Organization (PAO) serves as the centralized access team for UCLA Health’s ambulatory enterprise, ensuring timely, convenient, and equitable access to care for patients and the communities we serve. Our teams oversee high-volume centralized scheduling and call center operations, new patient referral intake and navigation, enterprise template and capacity management, workforce training and quality oversight, and scheduling pathways and technology optimization, including decision tree development and digital innovations. We operate at the intersection of operations, technology, and clinical partnership to align supply and demand, streamline workflows, and continuously improve how patients enter and engage with UCLA Health.


This position is a fixed hybrid role and would require you to work onsite inWestwood, Tuesday- Thursday

Salary Range: $73,000-$149,600


Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field, or relevant progressive leadership experience in a patient access organization.



  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible healthcare operations, patient access, ambulatory operations, contact center, or related healthcare leadership experience. Proven ability to develop high-performing teams through accountability, coaching, engagement, and professional development.

  • Three (3) years of direct supervisory experience leading frontline staff, with demonstrated professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and emotional intelligence.

  • Two (2) years of strong critical thinking and sound decision-making skills. Experience utilizing operational metrics and performance data to improve operational outcomes.

  • Two (2) years of experience implementing operational or process improvement initiatives (via Lean, Six Sigma, or formal process improvement methodology), with project or change management experience.

  • Two (2) years of ability and experience leading in a fast-paced, highly matrixed academic medical center or integrated health system, partnering with physicians, clinic leadership, and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Two (2) years of experience supervising represented (unionized) employees.
