Job summary

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking Access/Security Technicians I–IV to support building access control and security systems in Lincoln, NE. Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, and commissioning of low voltage electrical systems, with on-call rotations.

Qualifications

High school or equivalent experience.
Able to lift 50 lbs and work from a ladder/aerial equipment.
Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility; Nebraska Apprentice Electrical License or ability to obtain.
Level II–IV require progressively more experience in access control or security systems and related codes.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, alterations, additions, troubleshooting, and repair of low voltage electrical systems for building access and security equipment.
Interpret and use schematics/blueprints to install and troubleshoot electrical conduit, wiring and device termination.
Assist with commissioning and documentation of building access control systems; maintain clean work areas and complete work orders in the CMMS.
Rotating on-call schedule with after-hours work as needed; coordinate with vendors and teams.
