Valley Health System seeks an Administrative Assistant at Luckow Pavilion to support patients in the Outpatient Care Center (Infusion & Lab or Radiation Oncology) by handling registration, preregistration, scheduling, admitting, and data processing.

You will verify authorizations, medical necessity, and consents, coordinate with care teams, and refer to Patient Financial Advocates while ensuring timely access to services.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of related experience required.
• Proficient in Excel and Word processing.
• Accurate data entry and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

To support patients within the assigned Outpatient Care Center (Infusion & Lab or Radiation Oncology) by providing a variety of services such as registration, preregistration, scheduling, admitting, database management, information processing, patient/department support, referrals to Patient Financial Advocates, verifying authorizations, verifying medical necessity, and verifying consents. He/she works in conjunction with other health care professionals to evaluate and address the needs of patients served to ensure timely access to services needed and coordinate care.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of formal business/medical training preferred. Completion of BA training program required.

Experience

Two to five years of related experience required.

Skills

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Proven ability to calculate, use of Excel spreadsheets and Word processing is required. Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable operating system, procedures, policies and tasks. Comprehensive written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational, and follow‑up skills. Demonstrates professional and courteous behavior.
