Valley Health System in Luckow Pavilion is seeking a detail‑oriented patient access specialist to support registration, preregistration, scheduling, and admitting across Infusion & Lab and Radiation Oncology. You will verify authorizations and consents, process referrals, and coordinate with care teams to ensure timely access.

A high school diploma is required with BA training preferred; two to five years of related experience; proficiency in Excel and Word, strong communication, and accuracy

Position Summary

To support patients within the assigned Outpatient Care Center (Infusion & Lab or Radiation Oncology) by providing a variety of services such as registration, preregistration, scheduling, admitting, database management, information processing, patient/department support, referrals to Patient Financial Advocates, verifying authorizations, verifying medical necessity, and verifying consents. He/she works in conjunction with other health care professionals to evaluate and address the needs of patients served to ensure timely access to services needed and coordinate care.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of formal business/medical training preferred. Completion of BA training program required.

Experience

Two to five years of related experience required.

Skills

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Proven ability to calculate, use of Excel spreadsheets and Word processing is required. Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable operating system, procedures, policies and tasks. Comprehensive written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational, and follow-up skills. Demonstrates professional and courteous behavior.
