Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

Summary of Job Duties: The Access Coordinator III acts as a patient resource for scheduling and billing questions, facilitates comprehensive patient data collection, ensures timely and accurate billing, manages collections, and coordinates scheduling activities. Must perform all duties of the Access Coordinator I & II levels and support patient care activities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School, GED, or equivalent
  • Three (3) years experience in customer service or healthcare environment, including registration, billing, or scheduling

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Effective communication, computer skills, telephone etiquette, familiarity with office machines, and excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Proficiency with computers and data entry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare registration, billing, or scheduling

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, perform pre-registration, update patient information, process walk-ins, create patient charts, and access systems for orders
  • Manage supplies, equipment, mail, waiting room, and patient photos
  • Perform ABN completion, schedule surgeries/tests, issue excuses, send no-show letters, and manage appointment schedules

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
