Virginia Tech's Facilities and Operations team oversees on-campus residence halls, dining centers and student centers, focusing on daily facilities operations and long-term stewardship. The Access Manager supervises a locksmith, a key control coordinator, a sign shop specialist and wage staff, while managing over 12,000 lock cores and electronic locks for secure access.

This exempt, full-time role reports to the Assistant Director for Conference Services and Operations, develops policies, audits

Competenze

• Locksmith certification and experience in high-volume settings.
• Experience with electronic access systems and audits.
• Experience with complex key inventory coding and automated systems.
• Strong record-keeping and confidentiality for sensitive materials.
• Experience developing preventative maintenance programs for doors/locks.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• General carpentry skills.
• Supervisory/management experience related to directing others.
• Experience using a maintenance management software.

Mansioni

• Manage on-campus residence halls, dining centers and student centers security and access operations.
• Maintain 12,000+ lock cores, doors, and electronic locks; ensure accurate records and audits.
• Supervise locksmith staff, key control coordinator, sign shop specialist and wage personnel.
• Develop, implement and audit access/key control policies; review facility plans for controls.
• Oversee a small sign shop and coordinate with campus/external partners for signage needs.
