Job summary

CBX Solutions is hiring an Access Control Technician to install, configure, and service access control and video surveillance systems across commercial facilities. You will interpret plans, wire systems, and troubleshoot in collaboration with doors and hardware teams.

The role requires 1+ year experience, familiar with Lenel/Genetec/Avigilon, and basic IP networking. A strong customer focus and safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years installing and servicing access control and surveillance systems in commercial environments.
• Knowledge of card readers, maglocks, door contacts, exit devices, and IP cameras.
• Experience in configuring access control software (Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, AMAG, Openpath).
• Understanding of basic IP networking and static IP configuration.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
• Low voltage license is preferred or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Interpret shop drawings, riser diagrams, and project plans for field installations.
• Install, program, and troubleshoot access control systems and video components.
• Pre-assemble and test components prior to field installation.
• Pull and terminate low voltage wiring (Cat5e/6, coax, structured cabling).
• Coordinate with door and hardware teams for integrated systems.
• Interface with general contractors and site personnel to ensure compliance.
• Perform diagnostics and respond to service calls with root-cause analysis.
• Document work, time tracking, materials, and system configurations.
• Ensure installations meet standards (BICSI, EIA/TIA) and manufacturer specs.
