Job summary

Del Mar College seeks a part-time Coordinator for Access & Advocacy to coordinate accommodations and services for students with disabilities. The role handles student intakes, collaborates with faculty and staff, and engages in retention initiatives across campus.

The position requires a Master’s degree and at least three years of related experience, plus strong communication and organizational skills. Travel between campuses may be needed and adherence to confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; three (3) years related work experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• Motivated, self-directed and able to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Commitment to personal and professional growth; strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to travel between campus buildings.

Responsibilities

• Review disability documentation to determine eligibility for services and accommodations.
• Coordinate communication between faculty, staff and students with disabilities; provide ongoing consultation and training.
• Maintain knowledge of current laws affecting access for students with disabilities; manage case records with confidentiality.
• Assess candidates' interests, abilities and barriers; provide services or referrals to campus/community resources as needed.
• Participate in college-wide activities, committees and events.
• Develop collaborations with faculty, staff and community partners to support students’ needs.
• Establish outreach and intervention methods targeting populations in need; coordinate referrals to services.
• Evaluate new approaches to support and retain students during pivotal college moments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
