Job summary

TAE Technologies, a private fusion energy company, is seeking an Accelerator Physicist to develop, commission, and operate particle accelerators for medical and industrial use. You will work with engineering on accelerators hardware and perform experiments, simulations, and on-site commissioning at customer sites.

The role requires a PhD in physics with focus on accelerator, nuclear, or plasma physics, plus hands-on experience with high‑voltage systems, data acquisition, and quality/regulatory

Qualifications

  • Strong background in particle accelerators and related fields.
  • Experience designing, troubleshooting, and safe high voltage systems.
  • Proficient in experimental physics methods and data acquisition.
  • Familiar with simulation of physical processes in accelerators.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, shielding, and safety aspects of work with ionizing radiation.
  • Regulatory awareness for medical device development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop accelerators hardware: structures, injectors, beamlines, and diagnostic tools.
  • Run experiments, analyze data, and summarize findings in reports.
  • Simulate beam transport, heat transfer, radiation interactions, EM fields.
  • Assist integration and commissioning at customer sites; operate and optimize.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain accelerator systems with QA engineers.
  • Support manufacturing and procurement as SME.
  • Write specifications, SOPs, and installation manuals.
