Banner University Medical Center Tucson invites applications for a Trauma Acute Care Surgeon to join as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The Division emphasizes patient care, education, and scholarly activity within a regional referral center.

The successful candidate will lead clinical care, participate in ICU staffing, and pursue an active scholarly program with mentorship and departmental resources. Teaching is essential, with ATLS instruction encouraged.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent degree; eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Arizona.
• Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery.
• Fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care and/or Acute Care/Trauma Surgery.
• Evidence of clinical and didactic teaching ability.
• Peer-reviewed publication and active professional society membership, commensurate with career stage.
• ATLS instructor qualification, or eligibility and willingness to obtain it.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide range of patients, students, trainees, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, high-quality care to trauma and emergency general surgery patients across the continuum of care.
• Staff the surgical intensive care unit.
• Participate in equitable in-house trauma and emergency general surgery call, with backup call coverage as needed.
• Opportunity to develop and maintain an elective surgical practice aligned with divisional and institutional priorities.
