Banner University Medical Group in Tucson invites fellowship‑trained trauma/acute care surgeons to apply for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. We seek individuals with strong academic track records and a commitment to patient care, education, and scholarly activity.

The role offers teaching responsibilities, research collaboration, and leadership development within a supportive academic division serving southern Arizona.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent degree; eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Arizona.
• Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery.
• Fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care and/or Acute Care/Trauma Surgery.
• Evidence of teaching ability and scholarly activity.
• Peer‑reviewed publications and active professional society membership.
• ATLS instructor qualification or willingness to obtain it.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse patients, students, trainees and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to trauma and emergency general surgery patients across care continuum.
• Staff the surgical ICU and participate in trauma/EGS call with coverage as needed.
• Publish in peer‑reviewed journals and present at meetings.
• Pursue intramural/extramural research funding aligned with academic focus.
• Mentor junior faculty, fellows, and residents in research design and career development.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents; serve as ATLS instructor.
