Job summary

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time Clinician-Educator in Transplant Hepatology at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The role combines top-tier clinical care in a busy transplant hepatology practice with pre- and post-transplant evaluation and outpatient hepatology.

A strong education commitment is required to mentor fellows and residents; research and quality-improvement activities are encouraged.

Qualifications

  • MD degree and board certification in Transplant Hepatology.
  • Board certification in Gastroenterology.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator in Transplant Hepatology at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Responsibilities include providing superior clinical patient care for a thriving hepatology transplant practice. Clinical responsibilities will encompass both transplant hepatology - including pre- and post-transplant evaluation and management - and general hepatology in outpatient clinic settings, serving a diverse and complex patient population. A strong commitment to medical education is essential, as the successful candidate will play an active role in the training and mentorship of transplant hepatology and gastroenterology fellows and internal medicine residents, contributing to a rich academic environment that values the development of the next generation of specialists. Candidates with a strong interest in clinical research and quality improvement are strongly encouraged to apply, as Northwestern offers robust infrastructure and mentorship to support academic growth and scholarly productivity.

Qualified candidates will have their MD and be board certified in Transplant Hepatology and Gastroenterology.

The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.

The expected base pay range for this position is $340,000 - $440,000.

Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
