Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency.
• Board certification/eligibility in General Surgery.
• Fellowship training and board certification/eligibility in Surgical Critical Care.
• Eligibility for an unrestricted Florida medical license and appropriate clinical privileges.
• Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine, graduate medical education, teaching, and resident mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Surgical Critical Care/ICU attending with daytime ICU shifts.
• Direct daily multidisciplinary ICU rounds and management of critically ill surgical patients.
• Manage complex critical care conditions including respiratory failure, sepsis, hemodynamic instability, and multiorgan failure.
• Provide critical care procedures within privileges (airway management, central venous/arterial access).
• Provide critical care consultation and coordinate care with surgical teams.
• Participate in ICU quality improvement, patient safety, and M&M activities.
• Participate in General Surgery call assignments monthly and supervise residents in ICU and on call.
• Contribute to resident evaluations, curriculum development, didactics, and journal clubs.
