University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) SON seeks an Academic Support Services Specialist to provide primary support to the PhD program and secondary support to other programs within the Office of the Academic Deans. You will work independently to support student progress, assist with financial management, and contribute to program development across the SON and SGS.

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), School of Nursing (SON) has an exciting opportunity for an Academic Support Services Specialist.
The Office of the Academic Deans (OAD) drives the academic mission of the school by coordinating all programs in the school including the BSN, RN-to-BSN, MSN, DNP and PhD programs. The Academic Support Services Specialist is responsible for providing primary support to the PhD program and secondary support to other programs in the Office of the Academic Deans. The Academic Support Services Specialist works independently, contributes to the development and evaluation of program goals and objectives, and resolves issues and significant matters by utilizing independent judgment, discretion, creativity, and analytical thinking.
The Office of the Academic Deans collaborates with SON, The Graduate School, and UMB departments, providing a critical support structure for all students in the school. The academic affairs managed by OAD include curriculum development and implementation, coordination of admissions processes and support, ensuring the integrity of each student's academic experience to include monitoring student progress, assisting with securing financial support, translating policies and procedures and supporting the academic deans, all related to student success.

Bachelor's degree.
Two (2) years of administration of a program, preferably in higher education or healthcare setting. Coordination experience.
Ability to prepare financial statements and budgets. May consider a combination of directly related experience and education. Clery act designated job as campus security authorities (CSA) member and will comply with Clery Act requirements.
Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently. Ability to demonstrate, understand, apply, and adhere to the UMB Core Values of Respect and Integrity, Well-being and Sustainability, Equity and Justice, and Innovation and Discovery.
$61,786 - $61,978; Commensurate with education and experience.
