Job summary

Wayne State University is seeking an University Counselor I / Learning Support Engagement & Training Coordinator to lead marketing, communications, outreach, engagement, and training for the Academic Success Center on the Detroit campus.

The role focuses on increasing student awareness and participation in tutoring, SI, study skills coaching, and workshops, while developing training programs for peer tutors and staff to ensure high-quality academic support.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience in higher education or academic support is preferred.
• Strong marketing, communications, and outreach experience.
• Familiarity with CRLA standards and tutor training is desirable.
• Ability to develop strategic initiatives for student engagement.
• Ability to analyze data to improve programming.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement marketing and communication plans for Academic Success Center.
• Create digital and print marketing materials and campaigns.
• Coordinate outreach events, orientations, and workshops.
• Build partnerships with academic departments and student success programs.
• Promote tutoring, SI, and study skills coaching to students.
