Job summary

Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Student Worker - Academic Success. The student worker will provide administrative, communications, social media and event support to the Coordinator of Academic Enrichment Programs and possible Executive Team members.

The role will assist in daily operations, division-wide initiatives, and student-focused events that advance Nevada State’s mission.

Qualifications

• Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• Must be enrolled as a degree seeking student with a minimum of 6 credits in the current or upcoming semester at Nevada State.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).
• Demonstrated work ethic.
• Student must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Scholars Program Coordination & Event Support: Assist with planning, scheduling, and executing Scholars Program activities, including info sessions, workshops, and recognition events. Help prepare materials, set up spaces, track attendance, and provide day-of logistical support.
• Student & Scholar Communication: Serve as a point of contact for program participants by responding to routine inquiries, sending reminders and announcements, and helping maintain accurate contact and engagement records.
• Administrative & Data Management: Perform clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, document preparation, and maintaining program databases and spreadsheets to ensure records are current and organized.
• Academic Initiative Project Support: Provide assistance on various academic initiatives as assigned, including research support, resource compilation, and helping coordinate cross-program tasks and deadlines.
• Marketing & Content Creation: Help develop and update promotional materials, flyers, newsletters, and social media or web content to support program visibility and student engagement.
• Meeting & Workshop Logistics: Coordinate logistics for meetings and workshops, including room reservations, materials preparation, note-taking, and follow-up on action items.
