Job summary

Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Student Worker – Student Ambassador in the Admissions & Recruitment office. The student worker will provide prospective students, parents, and visitors with exceptional customer service, assisting them with general inquiries, campus tours, and recruitment‑related activities.

As a student worker, you will play an essential role in introducing prospective students to our university and creating a welcoming environment on campus.

Qualifications

• GPA 2.0 or higher and in good academic standing.
• Enrolled as degree-seeking student with at least 6 credits.
• Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Fluency in a second language (preferred).
• Prior customer-service experience (preferred).
• Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Element451, or OnBase (preferred).
• Some digital creation knowledge (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist students and parents visiting the Admissions & Recruitment office.
• Lead campus tours, sharing insights about programs, campus life, and resources.
• Assist in planning and executing campus recruitment events.
• Respond promptly and professionally to phone calls and emails related to admissions and recruitment inquiries.
• Scan and upload documents into the admissions database.
• Provide support on various projects and administrative tasks within the Admissions & Recruitment department.
• Contribute to social media content creation and posting.
• Offer assistance to other university departments as needed.
• Attend and table at off-campus recruitment fairs (mileage will be reimbursed).
