Job summary

Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD seeks a Director of Academics and Student-Athlete Development to lead academic support for Division I student-athletes and collaborate with campus offices.

The role reports to the Deputy Director of Athletics and to the Associate Provost’s Office, coordinating tutoring, counseling, and development initiatives. bachelor’s degree and 2–5 years’ experience preferred. Flexibility for evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in higher education, intercollegiate athletics, academic advising, student support, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, and academic standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor academic progress for ~700 student-athletes across 26 Division I sports.
• Provide direct academic support to assigned varsity sports (men’s rugby, cheerleading, dance).
• Coordinate academic and personal support services (tutoring, learning services, counseling).
• Collaborate with Campus departments on student-athlete development initiatives.
• Assist with NCAA APR and GSR data collection and reporting.
