Job summary

Arkansas State University Beebe is seeking a dedicated Distance Education coordinator to manage training sessions, LMS operations, and proctoring coordination across campus online courses.

The role oversees online proctoring, faculty support, course updates in the LMS, and student orientation sessions, ensuring quality and timely delivery of distance education programs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage online proctoring settings in courses, coordinate testing/proctoring, and assist with technical/software management.
• Design and develop course components demonstrating instructional design and LMS updates in an academic environment.
• Assist with face-to-face and online LMS orientation sessions, develop trainings, and ensure completion for all incoming freshmen.
• Manage course and instructor evaluation surveys within the LMS.
• Coordinate Quality Matters training.
• Assist the director and Distance Education staff as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Coordinates a variety of activities within the Distance Education department. These activities will include researching/learning new products/programs, scheduling/teaching training sessions, reviewing/updating courses within the LMS , managing the student orientation sessions, working with faculty in areas as needed, coordinating testing/proctoring as needed, providing technical support as needed, and assisting the director in other assigned areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coordinate Distance Education training sessions. This will include setting times, locations, developing agendas, communicating the sessions, signing up participants, managing session evaluations, and sending out PD certificates. Will facilitate the actual training and provide technical support to faculty/staff/students following training.

2. Manage online proctoring settings in the courses, proctoring communication and troubleshooting. Coordinate testing/proctoring for online proctoring. This includes working with the director of distance education for technical/software management, collecting/disbursing proctoring information, and planning.

3. Designs and develops course components and interactions demonstrating knowledge and experience of instructional design, development, implementation, and assessments in an academic environment. Assist in reviewing/updating courses within the LMS .

4. Assist with the face-2-face and online student LMS orientation sessions. This includes developing the training session, training others to deliver the sessions, overseeing the required completion for all incoming freshmen.

5. Manage course and instructor evaluation surveys within the LMS .

6. Coordinate Quality Matters training.

7. Assist the director and other Distance Education employees as needed.

8. Other duties as assigned
