Academic Program Specialist, Peer Support R0010859 Tampa
Housed within the Academic Success Center (ASC), Peer Support atThe University of Tampa has an opening for an Academic ProgramSpecialist. This position will work closely with the Director andPeer Support team to coordinate peer tutoring programs. Thisposition will report to the Director of Peer Support.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Director to manage the daily oversight oftutoring programs and student staff.
- Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate peer support staff.
- Collaborate with Peer Support staff to assessment programs, trackutilization of services, and implement new initiatives.
- Assist and track student staff through College Reading andLearning Association (CRLA) certification guidelines.
- Maintain webpages, Canvas site and other platforms associatedwith Peer Support programs.
- Teach ASK-100 course(s): study skills course that assistsstudents in enhancing college success skills, setting goals, anddeveloping personal responsibility for their academicexperiences.
- Represent Academic Success Center team at Universityevents.
- Participate in outreach initiatives to targeted studentpopulations in collaboration with Center staff and campuspartners.
- Assist with appointments, walk-ins, presentations, Admissionsevents, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of,respect for, and development of skills to engage with those ofother cultures and backgrounds.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in an academic discipline, higher education, orrelated field from a regionally accredited university.
- 2+ years working in an academic support capacity in highereducation, preferably in a learning center, tutoring or advisingfunctions.
- Knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn FERPA, ADA, andother relevant federal laws.
- Experience supervising student employees or professionalstaff.
- Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and organizationalskills as well as the ability to establish priorities and managetime

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Summer: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Occasional evenings and weekends may be required
