Job summary

The University of Chicago's Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science seeks full-time Academic Pediatric Ophthalmologists at any faculty rank. Appointees will provide patient care in pediatric ophthalmology, including strabismus and retinopathy of prematurity; interest and experience in adult strabismus is welcome.

Patient care will take place at our main ambulatory building in Hyde Park and Comer Children's Hospital. Other sites may be determined by the Department's needs.

Qualifications

• Have a medical doctorate or equivalent.
• Hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois.
• Have completed an ophthalmology residency or its equivalent.
• Have completed a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship or foreign equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in pediatric ophthalmology, including strabismus and retinopathy of prematurity.
• Teach and supervise trainees and students.
• Engage in scholarly activity and contribute to research.
• Collaborate with University of Chicago Medicine and affiliated campuses.

Education

Medical doctorate or equivalent
