Job summary

The West Palm Beach VA Medical Center's Pathology and Laboratory Service is seeking an experienced Pathologist to contribute to quality care standards within a VA academic hospital program. You must be an excellent communicator and a team player, capable of supporting accreditation activities and comprehensive pathology services.

This position requires board certification in pathology (AP/CP), a valid U.S. medical license, and eligibility for VA credentialing.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an approved medical school
  • Current full and unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
  • Board-certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
  • Eligibility for licensure and ability to obtain credentialing in VA facilities

Responsibilities

  • Support accreditation by CAP, JCAHO, and AABB.
  • Perform surgical pathology including gross examination and dictation.
  • Conduct cytology interpretations and correlate with clinical history.
  • Perform autopsy procedures as assigned.
  • Provide daily supervision of the blood bank and related operations.
  • Deliver educational presentations such as tumor boards and M&M conferences.
