Job summary

The University of Maryland School of Medicine's Division of Gerontology, Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine seeks an academic palliative medicine physician to join its expanding program. The role offers flexibility to develop a clinical portfolio across inpatient consultation, ambulatory palliative care, and leadership of the GIP hospice program.

An MD with board certification/eligibility in Palliative Medicine is required; strong internal medicine background and teaching/research experience

Qualifications

• Medical degree required; must meet Maryland license requirements.
• Board certified or eligible in Palliative Medicine.
• Strong foundation in internal medicine, teaching and research or quality improvement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient palliative medicine consultation and ambulatory palliative care.
• Leadership of the General Inpatient (GIP) hospice program; potential GIP Hospice Medical Director.
• Engage in teaching, quality improvement, program development and research.
