Job summary

Albany Medical College in the Capital Region seeks fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists at all ranks to join our obstetric anesthesia faculty team as we expand care of the obstetric population at our center. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a collaborative, academically focused environment within the Capital Region's only academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center.

Our role includes care for both healthy and high-risk obstetric patients, with opportunities in

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent).
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesiology required.
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or foreign equivalent recognized by the ABAS.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for parturients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported and encouraged.
• Work closely with obstetricians, OB residents, L&D nurses, and other perioperative team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide guidance and support for trainees and junior faculty in professional and academic growth.

Education
